The high res digital files, to give or not to give.  Well, we say GIVE!  We want you to have the files, after all, they are your photos!  It is not that much more work for us since all the work is already done, and it felt like we were holding your photos hostage!  If I couldn’t even fork over the $2000+ for the digital files for my own wedding, why should I expect our clients to?  (And by you not having them, it seems like I wasted 10-40 hours of my life editing the photos for my own computer?!) Well, anybody who books from now on (July 30, 2010) will get all the high res digital files, wedding, studio, engagment, on-location, we will include the files for all!

One reason why we kept them in the past is because we know how photos can just sit and sit on your computer and never get printed.  We also wanted to encourage our clients to get professional prints/albums/products from us because the color and quality isn’t even comparable to the stuff that regular consumers have access to. We will still encourage you to take a look at our samples and see the cool products we have found (that are only available to professional photographers!)

Keeping the files left a knot in our stomachs, and made us feel bad, so we thought, hey! Why are we doing this? This is why we started this business, to do what WE wanted to do, not to follow what the “norm” is.  We want to keep this business fun for us, and if it isn’t fun anymore, we should change what we are doing.

Yes, that makes us happy!  We hope you are too!

If you like the look of a framed print, but also like canvases, you can combine them to create your own “framed” work of art.  I am ordering this pic as a sample and I’ll take some pics as soon as it comes in so you can actually see what I’m talking about!

I just got this new sample album in and I love it!  I made a “first year” album of my daughter’s photos to use as the sample.  Double duty!  My daughter also loves it and likes flipping through all the pages and pointing out the dog whenever she can find her on the pages.  I didn’t realize it, but there are quite a lot of photos with the family dog in it!  The pages are thick and very durable so I was ok with her looking through the book on her own.  The pearlized pages are very pretty and shimmers very subtly, it also has a UV coating so I can just wipe off any drool or sticky fingerprints.  The cover is completely customizable, which I love.  I put a big photo of her in her puppy costume on the front, a photo of her eating her birthday cake on the back, and also added text to the spine.

It does cost a bit more but it’s totally worth it.  Since I’m not really a jewelry/flowers kind of gal my husband has trouble finding gifts for me, so I got myself this album instead! I told him when he got home from work haha  I’ll say it’s an early Mother’s Day gift to myself. In 20 years when I’m *eek* 51 (you can calculate my age ), I will probably treasure an album like this more than a tennis bracelet anyways.

(I kept the markup on these albums low since I love them so much and think everybody should get one! I know I am going to order more for myself…shh…don’t tell Matt! haha)
